Right-click the icon or folder you want to change.

On the new desktop shortcut, follow Part 1 above to change its icon. Find the original app in the Start Menu or File Explorer. Right-click the icon or folder you want to change

Go to Desktop Icon Settings (see Part 3) → Click Restore Default → OK . For Windows 11: Step 1: Right-click an empty

Follow Steps 4–7 from the Windows 11 instructions above. Part 4: Restore Default Icons If you want to revert all icons to their original Windows look:

Right-click the icon → Properties → Change Icon... → Select the first/default icon → OK .

Click the Change Icon... button.
