It was 2041. The Square Kilometer Array had just come online, and Elara had been granted a measly four hours of director’s discretionary time to test a hypothesis. She fed the Antares data into a new kind of neural network she’d designed—one that ran on Antares Logic instead of Boolean algebra. The network didn’t just process information; it negotiated with it. Truth was a conversation, not a verdict.

The network crashed three times. On the fourth attempt, it didn’t crash. It wept.
